What is truSculpt?
TruSculpt is a breakthrough noninvasive technology to address a wide set of aesthetic concerns on the body. Cutera’s TruSculpt is clinically proven to deliver deep, uniform heating to tackle the toughest concerns with comfort and ease – even on the smallest of areas of the body.
How does it work? Cutera TruSculpt uses Radio Frequency (RF) to help remove unwanted fat. Like other RF devices, TruSculpt will re-contour the body by targeting and disrupting specific pockets of fat cells. The heat from the RF energy can get to those cells without harming the skin’s surface. Once broken up, the fat dissolves and then eventually leaves the body through natural processes.
RF energy also stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that gives skin elasticity and structure, thus helping to tighten skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
What areas can be treated? The TruSculpt system is designed to treat multiple zones of the body. This procedure is most beneficial for the thighs, buttocks and abdomen, but it can be used on other areas of stubborn fat as well.
How many treatments are needed? Dr. Kern and his trained aesthetician will discuss with you the number of treatments based upon the area(s) you wish to have treated and your desired results. Typically a patient will receive 2-3 treatments. Each treatment should be 4-8 weeks apart.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for TruSculpt is anyone over the age of 18, who has unwanted fat or cellulite they wish to diminish the appearance of, and maintains a healthy life style. TruSculpt is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese, or a substitute for surgical options such as liposuction or Lap-band. Dr. Kern will determine if treatment is right for you during your private consultation.
What to Expect After Treatment
Immediately after the procedure, the treated areas will appear red. Some patients experience swelling and mild tenderness after treatment that can last up to 24 hours. These effects typically do not last longer than a few hours. After treatment, apoptosis (death of fat cells) begins, and your body filters outs the dead fat cells like it would any other waste substance. Treatment results will become noticeable 6-8 weeks after the first treatment.

The actual treatment will typically last between 15 minutes and an hour, depending on the number of pulses applied.
